The matcha is the perfect way to add a little extra caffeine, color, and fun to your morning. Combining this flavor with bananas is a sweet note to your morning! The browned butter makes everything better by adding super cozy notes that you will be dreaming about. This recipe is easy to make, and an impressive morning bake!
Notes and Tips for Better Banana Bread:
Using a kitchen scale is super useful for baking! If you have yet to purchase a kitchen scale, consider upgrading and see how great they make your baking. If you do not have a kitchen scale, just make sure to fluff your flour before scooping it out.
Greasing your pan is a great option for making sure your bread does not stick. I use butter to grease my bread pan and it has never stuck! If you want use parchment paper that is also an easy way to keep your bread from sticking. I recommend getting your cake directly to a cooling rack if you use parchment paper so it does not get soggy on the bottom.
You do not need a stand mixer or a hand held one for this recipe! You can mix everything with just a fork, which is such a bonus since it means less clean up. A pro tip to make your banana mashing super easy is to lightly press the bananas while they are in the peel. This will help soften them and make them easier to mash.
Questions For Banana Bread with Matcha and Browned Butter:
What Makes This Recipe an Easy Banana Bread Recipe?
This recipe is easy for a couple of reasons. Not requiring any special equipment makes this banana bread recipe super simple. Since the butter is browned and combined with the sugar and matcha, you do not have to use a stand mixer to cream any butter and sugar together!
This recipe is also easy because it is hard to mess up! The bananas add a lot of moisture, making the batter forgiving for any extra flour that may accidentally get added in. You will love making this banana bread with matcha because it is simple to put together.
Do I Have To Add Milk To Banana Bread?
This banana bread does not require any milk. The moisture comes from the browned butter and the 2-3 bananas that the recipe calls for. The texture of the crumb is light and fluffy once baked. If your bread batter is super dry, feel free to add in 2-3 Tbs of any type of milk you prefer to use.
Can You Freeze This Banana Bread?
Yes, you can freeze this banana bread! To freeze your banana bread, make sure that it is fully cooled first. Wrap first in parchment paper and then tightly in plastic wrap, trying to decrease the most air pockets as possible. The parchment paper helps the banana bread defrost easier since the moisture will stick to the plastic wrap. When ready to heat, remove the plastic wrap and parchment paper and reheat in the microwave or the oven.

How To Make Browned Butter Banana Bread Muffins:
Preheat the oven to 350 F.
2. Brown the butter in a small sauce pan.
3. Allow the butter to melt and brown, stirring frequently so the milk solids do not burn. The butter will begin to brown in about 6-7 minutes and will be fragrant and light brown. The time to browning will depend on how cold your butter was and how large your pan is.
4. While the butter is browning, mash the bananas in a separate bowl.
5. Add the egg and mix to combine
6. Once browned, turned the heat down to low and add the banana, egg, brown sugar, vanilla, almond extract (if using), and matcha powder. Stir to combine and remove from the heat.
7. Transfer the wet ingredients into a mix bowl. Add the flour, salt, baking soda, and baking powder, using a scale to measure the flour by placing your bowl on top of your scale. If you do not have a scale, combine the dry ingredients in a separate bowl.
8.Slowly add the banana and butter mixture, stirring as your pour
9.Once the batter is well combined, pour into a grease or lined bread pan.
10. Sprinkle with sugar (if using) and bake at 350F for about 30-35 minutes or until a knife comes out of the center clean.
11. Remove from the oven and allow to sit for 3-4 minutes in the bread pan.
12. Once set and slightly cooled, use a knife to separate the bread from the size of the bread pan. Remove to a cooling rack and allow to cool for about 15 minutes.
13. Enjoy!
